The Beauty of Czech Larps in 2022
In the past year, we had the opportunity to visit dozens of games in the Czech Republic. You can see their dates on two calendars, you can add the ratings of the larps to the Larp database, and a summary of current events appears every three weeks in the Larp newsletter. And we remember many larps through photographs.
A number of events and photographers will share their photos on their profiles, where they will get forgotten. I think it’s a shame, because the quality of larp photography has been at a high level in Czechia, and the larps in their presentation look gorgeous. So let’s recap this year’s best visual cuts and maybe it will inspire you to visit some such extravaganza next year.

1914: Home by Christmas
A content larp set among soldiers in the trenches of World War 1 in the run-up to Christmas.

Akkon
Dramatic content historical narrative larp which is set in the city of the same name shortly before its fall. The second run took place.

Good People of Languedoc (eng)
Content atmospheric larp, the plot of which is, among other things, inspired by the Cathar heresy of the second half of the 13th century.

Belle Epoque
Larp from the alternate history of the late 19th century inspired by motifs from Victorian horror and adventure novels, the work of Jules Verne, the atmosphere of the works of E. A. Poe and H. P. Lovecraft, occultism, political machinations and phantasmagorical visions of the time, mixed with a world dominated by inhuman and extraterrestrial entities called „the Ancients„ and a pseudo-Slavic pantheon.

The Line
The Line is an educational role-playing game for a group of ten players. It is set in the Czech border zone in the autumn of 1950, and its heroes try to cross the Czechoslovak border and get to the „West„.

House in Circles
A content-driven, atmospheric horror game that takes inspiration from haunted house horror and ghost stories. It also deals with themes such as the breakdown of family relationships and historical grievances.

Fallen
A content game using the principle of fate play, inspired by comics and other stories about the transformation of ordinary people and heroes into villains.

Fin de siècle
A conversational content role-playing game set in Paris at the end of the 19th century, where the characters meet in the cabaret Le Chat Noir in a gloomy depressive atmosphere alternating with occasional bursts of optimism and nostalgia. There were two runs.

The Cabaret
A weekend larp loosely encompassing everything you imagine when you hear the word cabaret and let your imagination run wild. There were two runs.

Age of Blood
A content dramatic narrative historical larp set at the Reichstag in Nuremberg in 1313. It was its fifth run.

Tiny Shiny is a content larp set at the turn of the millennium in a Berlin club where everyone has one last chance to live their lives the way they really want.

A somewhat experimental game on a smaller scale with a Nordic theme, loosely inspired by the life and work of the writer and painter Tove Jansson.

Night of Crosses
An atmospheric larp from the Wild West, which works with the themes of separation, hope, but also the daily grind, without which the hard-tested society of a remote American town would fall apart completely.

A six-hour horror larp set in Austria-Hungary at the end of the 19th century. It aims to convey feelings of anxiety, uncertainty and fear of the indescribable.

Requiem: Reichskinder (eng)
The play is inspired by the complex period of Czech-German relations just after the Second World War. It processes it in the form of an atmospheric thriller from the environment of an institution for troubled youth. There were two runs.

Heart of the Drakkar
Content chamber outdoor larp set in a gloomy environment in the Viking age, where the line between reality and madness meet each other.

A content dramatic game about forest creatures from Slavic mythologies. It is set on the border between prehistoric times and ancient times, full of savage rituals and mysticism.

Hundred Years War, 1337
The game combines elements of larp and board game, and its course affects events across Europe and surrounding countries during this important conflict.

Under the Dark Mark
A content dramatic larp from the world of Harry Potter; the plot is set during the seventh part of the saga at Hogwarts school. There were two runs.

Uprooted
An experimental larp with memories as its central theme. The game is divided into two parts. In the first part the players co-create content for the second part. It then takes place on three levels that are significantly different in terms of content and gameplay, through which players act repeatedly.

Knights‘ Song (eng)
An action fantasy fairy tale, dramatic content larp. The key to the game is the atmosphere of autumn, the telling of stories that are not completely closed to the player and the physicality of the game. There was an international run.

Působí v Pardubicích, organizuje od roku 2007, má na svědomí Světy zlodějů, Střepy Abeiru, Matrixy, Ozvěny Nirnaeth a další outdoory. Vedle larpů se věnuje mnoha příbuzným činnostem. Dává přednost hravosti, budování atmosféry a připravenosti. Svůj čas tráví hledáním rozmanitých druhů inspirace a snahou o obohacení světa druhých.
